Haiku Summer School Programme

The programme for this year's Haiku Summer School is shown below. If you have any questions in advance of booking, please do get in touch.

 

Timings:   Start    - 10am EDT/3pm UK

                      Finish - 4:15pm EDT/9:15pm UK

 

Monday 11th August

  • Welcome & Introduction to Haiku Summer School
  • Prompt Workshop with Karen &/or Alison - an illustrated prompt and discussion workshop
  • Individual Writing Time (to workshop prompts)
  • Your 6 minute 1:1 session with Alan (today or Wednesday)
  • Group 1: Feedback Workshop with Alan (max 4 people to ensure individual attention) 
  • Where I'm Writing From session 1 (for all)
  • End of day social check-in

 

Tuesday 12th August

  • Start of day check-in
  • Briefing for two optional extra Haiku Summer School activities (a renga and an optional personal ginko) - and a look ahead to the activity for later in the week. 
  • Group 2: Feedback Workshop with Alan (max 4 people to ensure individual attention)
  • Where I'm Writing From session 2 (for all)
  • Group 3: Feedback Workshop with Alan (max 4 people to ensure individual attention)
  • Where I'm Writing From session 3 (for all)
  • Group 4: Feedback Workshop with Alan (max 4 people to ensure individual attention)
  • Time for individual writing time during the day, or the extra activities, or relaxation!
  • End of day social check-in

 

Wednesday 13th August

  • Start of day check-in
  • Your 6 minute 1:1 session with Alan (if didn't take place on Monday)
  • Prompt Workshop with Karen &/or Alison - a "wildcard" prompt and discussion workshop
  • Individual Writing Time (to workshop prompts)
  • Group 1: Feedback Workshop with Alan (max 4 people to ensure individual attention)
  • Group A: Optional Activities catch-up session (and a briefing for the third optional activity – a snoop around some of the Call of the Page prompt archives!)
  • End of day check-in

 

Thursday 14th August

  • Start of day check-in
  • Group B: Optional Activities catch-up and third option briefing session or Group 2: Feedback Workshop with Alan (max 4 people to ensure individual attention)
  • Group 3: Feedback Workshop with Alan (max 4 people to ensure individual attention)
  • Group 4: Feedback Workshop with Alan (max 4 people to ensure individual attention)
  • Individual writing/optional activities/relaxation time when not in other sessions
  • Drop-in performance surgery (there will be two sessions available over the course of the day for anyone to drop-in who wants to practice performing their poems for the.....
  • End of School Celebration & Performance

 

There may be some small changes to this programme, but this is what we expect to run!
