What our students have said about our courses....
Haiku Summer School will run from Monday 29th July to Friday 2nd August (although if you are in a time zone ahead of the UK, you may find it finishes Saturday morning)
On the
Q: We know people join Call of the Page courses from many countries and time zones. How will you cope with this?
A: All the main events will be duplicated so there is a choice of time zones.
EUROPE & AFRICA: Events will fall in the morning and afternoon.
AMERICAS: Events will fall early morning, to early afternoon.
AUSTRALASIA & ASIA: Events will fall in the evenings and early mornings.
Additionally, you'll have the option of choosing outside these times, should you wish to join particularly early or late in your day and mix with your co-participants in different time zones.
Q: I'm a complete beginner. Will Haiku Summer School suit me?
A: You are very welcome, in fact we will have an extra welcome session for haiku beginners, before you join in the sessions with writers of mixed abilities.
Q: I'm an advanced haiku writer. Will Haiku Summer School be stimulating enough for me?
A: The prompt sessions are designed to work for all levels, and the feedback you receive from Alan in the small group live feedback sessions will be tailored to your skills and experience.
Q: Will I need to attend all the online events on offer?
A: No not all. We realise that spending a lot of time online can be very draining, and we encourage you to pace yourself, so that you enjoy the week and find it as energising as possible. We will however strive to make everyone feel part of the ongoing event. We are scheduling in writing time sessions where you are encouraged to spend time away from the computer while you work in peace, but knowing you are doing so at the same time as others. You will even be able to meet up with them for online "tea breaks" around writing periods to check in on how everyone is doing.
