Start Date: Thursday 7th November 2019
End Date: Monday 16th December 2019
Level: Participants should have some existing experience of writing haiku, but may be beginners, "improvers", or advanced, at haibun.
Group Size: up to 5
In this haibun course, over just two sessions, you will be invited to write a double-assignment of two haibun each time (of an average 300 words each), resulting in four new haibun over the course. Optional prompts and approaches to your haibun will be suggested each time. Substantial written feedback (up to six hours per student) is given by former haibun editor Alan Summers, who's recently been Pushcart Prize nominated for his haibun.
As with most of our online courses, participants will be sent the feedback on all participants' work, as well as their own, in a shared learning experience.
If you prefer to write "tanka prose" in place of haibun, please let us know at the time of booking so that we can ensure prompts are suitable for both tanka prose and haibun, as there are nuances between the forms!
Full Cost: £180.00 (approximately US$225).
Early Bird Rate: £170 (approximately US$ 212) if booking by Thursday 17th November 2019.
By booking on to this course you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.
